CAIRO HORSES
Cairo, Egypt, 2013

Horses starve in Cairo, as carriage drivers can’t afford to feed them.
Due to the recent political upheavalin Egypt and ongoing protests, many of Cairo’s carriage drivers are unablE to afford to feed their horses, which are used to pull carriages for tourist’s excursions and sightseeing tours around the Pyramids and represent a real investment for the family.

Without the income generated from tourism in the Pyramid area, horses and camels are on the brink of starvation: as the Egyptian tourist market.
